Tracks from my new CD… check’m out

Tiller in a Rock Garden is president George Turcotte’s first effort. 12 originals and one cover all played, engineered and produced by himself, Tiller ought to be classified as Canadiana. A folk-rock album with an attitude, fans of John Hiatt, Blue Rodeo, Ry Cooder, Daniel Lanois and Colin Linden should grab two copies. Check out numbers via the player on the top right.

Upholding Tradition: the violins of Bruce Murray

MMMusicworks is honoured to be chosen to keep the tradition Bruce Murray long kept alive. Bruce was an active and much loved part of our local country music scene - and he knew a lot about fiddles. A fine luthier in his own right, he also imported violins from abroad. Add to that he recorded and produced many local artists including Ron McMunn, Pierre Schryer, …. These cd’s, his collection of books, and his inventory of violins, bows and accessories are now available at our store in Almonte. Help support Bruce’s family in their time of need! If you’re in the market for a fiddle - student, intermediate or pro - come down and check out Bruce’s selection and support a good cause!

MMMusicworks welcomes Joey Wright

We’re pleased to announce the addition of Joey Wright to our fine lineup of instructors. Joey is a graduate of Berkeley, a recording artist and producer, and husband to two-time Juno Award winner Jenny Whitely. Joey teaches guitar, mandolin & banjo, and makes a mean chicken fricasee. Why not come down and let him teach you Wright?
