Here follows a blurb on one of our past workshops…
March Break… what to do? Why, join us at MMMusicworks for “Ukulele Week,” of course!
Here’s the skinny. Allow me to introduce our friend and fine instrument maker Wolfie – www.wolfkater.com. We’re bringing the Wolf to Almonte, armed and dangerous with a mitfull of his cool ukulele kits. It all begins on Monday, March 15th. Wolf will be on hand demonstrating the build, the simplest of which may be completed in about an hour and a half. For finer results, students may wish to take a little more time with sanding and attention to detail. On Tuesday through Saturday, several of our staff will be on hand: Dave Brown’s skills and knowledge will benefit students wishing to create a professional finish. Roger Plant and George Turcotte will be available for instruction on playing the instruments. Students are encouraged to work up songs as solos, duos, trios, what have you – all on ukulele of course.
On Saturday, March 20th , there will, of course, be a show!
Oh, and PRIZES! Prizes will be given for best solo performance, best group performance, and of course, best ukulele in your age bracket.
