March Break… what to do? Why, join us at MMMusicworks for “Ukulele Week,” of course!

Here’s the skinny. Allow me to introduce our friend and fine instrument maker Wolfie - www.wolfkater.com. We’re bringing the Wolf to Almonte, armed and dangerous with a mitfull of his cool ukulele kits. It all begins on Monday, March 15th. Wolf will be on hand demonstrating the build, the simplest of which may be completed in about an hour and a half. For finer results, students may wish to take a little more time with sanding and attention to detail. On Tuesday through Saturday, several of our staff will be on hand: Dave Brown’s skills and knowledge will benefit students wishing to create a professional finish. Roger Plant and George Turcotte will be available for instruction on playing the instruments. Ken Harper layin' it down

We would like to welcome Ken Harper to our roster of music teachers

Not only is he proficienty with Celtic material, he has also studied jazz at Humber, played across Canada with Garden Bros Circus (a tightrope kind of a gig for a musician….improv all the way) and basked in the presence of the late great Oscar Peterson.  He holds a BFA in jazz studies from York University.  Whether you’re interested in rudiments, kit, jazz or a little traditional drumming - Ken has lots to offer.

Team MMMusicworks grows stronger still with the addition of Roger Plant. Welcome Roger! Roger is a very talented guitarist on both acoustic and electric. A veritable musical encyclopedia, his styles range as far and wide as his taste; his roots are in the blues, jazz, folk and rock. A funny and personable fellow, Roger brings something unique to the table while conforming to the mission of all our teachers: our mandate? To inspire! Call Kathryn now to book an appointment with Roger before all his availability is all gone to other good homes!

Well that was a lot of fun! Congratulations to Elizabeth and Nathan for cleverly putting the clues together and unearthing the Hidden Treasure! And so cool to have found it while the store was packed with well-wishers as we embark upon our 3rd year in business! Honourable mentions go to Brianna MacSpurren, Clint & AJ Shewchuck and Madeleine Poirier for there tenacious efforts and insight into some archaic clues… the Walrus is Paul, guys! And there he was (and still is) with his finger pointing right at the prize… so. It’s now Sunday, our first Sunday open for Christmas and it’s quiet… so I guess I’ll hide another one… Here’s your first clue:  Živojinović ! Long Live the Treasure Hunt!
