Here follows a blurb on one of our past workshops…
March Break… what to do? Why, join us at MMMusicworks for “Ukulele Week,” of course!
Here’s the skinny. Allow me to introduce our friend and fine instrument maker Wolfie – www.wolfkater.com. We’re bringing the Wolf to Almonte, armed and dangerous with a mitfull of his cool ukulele kits. It all begins on Monday, March 15th. Wolf will be on hand demonstrating the build, the simplest of which may be completed in about an hour and a half. For finer results, students may wish to take a little more time with sanding and attention to detail. On Tuesday through Saturday, several of our staff will be on hand: Dave Brown’s skills and knowledge will benefit students wishing to create a professional finish. Roger Plant and George Turcotte will be available for instruction on playing the instruments. Students are encouraged to work up songs as solos, duos, trios, what have you – all on ukulele of course. … continue reading this entry.

Ken Harper layin' it down
We would like to welcome Ken Harper to our roster of music teachers
Not only is he proficienty with Celtic material, he has also studied jazz at Humber, played across Canada with Garden Bros Circus (a tightrope kind of a gig for a musician….improv all the way) and basked in the presence of the late great Oscar Peterson. He holds a BFA in jazz studies from York University. Whether you’re interested in rudiments, kit, jazz or a little traditional drumming – Ken has lots to offer.
