Olympus LS-10

Olympus LS-10

LS-10 – The Olympus LS-10 is an awesome tool. Simple, elegant and rugged, this handheld stereo field recorder is something every songwriter, music lover and nature freak needs. I don’t know how I ever got along without it. I write songs driving my truck and walking my dog. I practice singing along with acoustic guitar I’ve captured on the Olympus. I record The Radiators in rehearsal, and post them here. I record frogs reciting ancient melody. I don’t leave home without it! And oh, by the way… the thing sounds fantastic! Check out some clips…

Adrianople - Mike Favreau

Adrianople - Mike Favreau

Adrianople is an interesting array of musical flavours, stretched across a vast, colourful canvass that transcends mountainous barriers and borders altogether. What? This instrumental gem visits corners of the globe from ancient Russia, France, Brazil, to modern New York, Los Angeles to the far side of the moon and beyond... Recorded and produced in Ottawa by Favreau & Turcotte, this eclectic album features a great roster of local talent.

It's a tip of the hat to our influences, from Steely Dan, Rush, Yes, Genesis, Bowie, Zep, Terry Bozzio, Ry Cooder ... etc. This baby can be yours for the meager price of only une douzaine dinaros. Wow. That's like highway robbery. What are you waiting for? Click the samples for a listen...

Tiller in a Rock Garden

Tiller in a Rock Garden

When you can't categorize something - make a new category! I like to call what I do musically a thing called Canadiana. The Texans believe everything's bigger down there. Well, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, I say. Enough said. Tiller in a Rock Garden is my first effort. I wound up playing nearly all the instruments

here, though it wasn't necessarily planned that way - long story. On the album you'll hear a variety of influences from the obvious Daniel Lanois and Blue Rodeo to the perhaps less so Mark Knopfler, John Hiatt, Max Webster and if you listen hard enough, a hint of Rush. Check out the tracks below, and if you dig 'em, please buy it! The crazy representational artwork is by the hand of talented local Almonte artist Deborah Zdriluk, whose wonderful watercolours decorate our halls.
